The “PAUL for Tanzania” project continues to develop. Originally started as a district social action in District 1810, over 20 people are now involved in the project in 4 thematic working groups (finance, technical implementation, PR/public relations, network). The overarching goal is still: We want to advance the drinking water supply in the Kigoma region in western Tanzania.

The third project implementation phase recently took place on site: 8 Rotaractors from different clubs supported in Kigoma. The project made great progress: a total of 6 new PAUL water filter stations were installed, various optimizations were made to stations that were already installed, and a cartography project, water level, flow and height measurements as well as water tests to measure water quality were carried out at several water sources . Furthermore, contacts were established with local organizations that are to be used in the spirit of the project. Implementation on site is always carried out in close coordination with project partners and experts in order to be able to implement the project as needs-oriented and efficiently as possible in the long term.

We are very excited about the progress of the project and what the future will bring. Because there is a lot to do, and one thing we become very aware of every time: water is life.

Would you like to become part of the project? Anyone can take part – no matter what district they come from or whether they are part of Rotaract or not. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact: f_koenig@aol.com (project manager Franziska König).
